Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens Outsmart Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy

The new Raw tag team champions, Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy arrived in the ring a week after defeating the seemingly invincible Vikings for gold. On Monday night the Messiah spoke of the victory and responded to a challenge to Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens at night, claiming that he was in a fighting mood.

Owens and Joe arrived, suggesting that the enthusiasm for fighting was the product of a heel plan that would put an end to the AOP attack. When Rollins and Murphy revealed that Akam and Rezar were in the locker room, the Viking Raiders came out of nowhere to attack AOP, making sure that Rollins and Murphy had no support as they prepared to defend their newly won titles.

The children's faces went to the ring as the show was about to break out.

Grade: A Analysis: It was refreshing to see two childish faces that weren't totally idiotic.

Owens and Joe sniffed a sneak attack and perpetrated one of their own, reaching their heels before they could be caught first.

From a fan's perspective, it also gives the impression that the heroes are about to have a good chance of dethroning cowardly heels. Time will tell if that's what happens, but for now, it's been a good time to attract fans again after the break.

Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy

Aggressive champions were successful early on when Joe hit Murphy, cornered him and punched him. Owens continued, downloading The Best Kept Secret and mocking Rollins with a DX-inspired horse.

The initial attack of the challengers ended when Rollins and Murphy faced Joe. Rollins, poorly recommended, led him to crash and burn in the ring and Joe restored the momentum towards rest.

During the break, the medical team forced Joe to leave the game, leaving Owens to fight for gold alone. A big splash of frog in Rollins nearly knocked out the game and the titles, but Messiah kicked both of them on Monday night.

Owens absorbed Murphy's sustained offensive and defended himself, almost winning the game again if it weren't for a timely breakup of Rollins. Owens dropped the Messiah with the stunner and an alarm Murphy rolled him over for victory and successful defense of the title. Result: Rollins and Murphy defeated Owens and Joe Grade: B+ Analysis: This was a very fun game with some solid reservations.

The champions fled a little with their titles, generating more warmth for their recent alliance, while the faces of the children seem, infallible winners if the teams meet again.

WWE Creative was put in a corner while programming this game for the show but fled thanks to the ingenious narrative that saw Joe removed from the fight and Owens left to fight his enemies. It was tough, he survived the arsenals of Rollins and Murphy, but he looked away from the proverbial ball for a moment and paid dearly.

United States Championship Match: Humberto Carrillo vs. Andrade

After defeating Humberto Carrillo at the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show, Andrade defended his United States Championship against 205 live exports for the second time in so many nights.

An aggressive Carrillo led the fight against Andrade, throwing him into the timekeeper position. However, the champion recovered and brought Carrillo back to the ring, where he was cheeky in his arrogance and relentless in his intensity as he stepped on the challenger from the boy's face.

Carrillo created separation towards rest.

Later, Andrade asked for the hammer DDT, but Carrillo replied and delivered an enzuigiri. Carrillo got on the ropes and launched a big moon jump, but Zelina Vega broke the pivot, pulling out a DQ and making sure the championship remained around the life of her associate.

Back from the commercial, the challenger tried to drag the arm of the trampoline, but Andrade hit him against the carpet. The Idol continued with a submission, trying to force a resurgence of his rival. Carrillo went out, but Andrade dropped it with a power pump to cut it again.

This was another very solid champion and a game of challenges, but the key to the increase in qualifying during Sunday's game was the angle that followed the bell.

After the game, an enraged Carrillo sent Andrade onto the steel steps, then dropped him with his own DDT hammer on the exposed concrete floor for a good fan ovation. Result: Carrillo defeated Andrade by disqualification. Grade: B+ Analysis: He did it here and the fan reaction to his DDT at Andrade is a positive test of how important that little development is to Carrillo's ability to outperform the audience in a way he hasn't been able to do so far.

Carrillo was so indescribable from the character point of view that fans absolutely needed to see their more aggressive side. They had to know that it wasn't a clean baby face to shake off the disgusting attack he had suffered in Andrade's hands and continue fighting in the good fight. He had to show a vindictive attitude and be able to prove that the turn was a fair game.

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

One night after winning the women's Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair joked announcing who would challenge WrestleMania. Before the alleged queen could reveal her choice, Asuka and Kairi Sane interrupted her. Comings and go gave way to a beating of The Kabuki Warriors during the break.

After the commercial, Flair battles The Empress of Tomorrow in a rematch of his epic WrestleMania 34.

Flair pushed Sane away, leaving Asuka to save and drag her partner to a safe place.

At the end of the game, a series of counters and reversals gave way to Flair by applying Figure Eight to what appeared to be a victory. Instead, Sane climbed the ropes and passed his elbow through his right mind to be disqualified. Result: Flair defeated Asuka Grade: C+ Analysis: Let's understand, Charlotte is a transcendent artist. Today she is one of the best performers in the ring in the world and the female wrestling champion. What we don't need is to continue to oppress the rest of the list on behalf of the championship opportunity and constantly remember its greatness.

Flair and Asuka have perverse chemistry in the ring, but the quality action could not mask what was a segment that achieved nothing. The queen did not announce her election, the women's team champions were beaten by a woman and withdrew when fans remembered once again that Flair triumphed over everyone.

24/7 Championship Match: No Way Jose vs. Mojo Rawley

WWE 24/7 champion Mojo Rawley introduced the world to his new "offensive linesman" Riddick Moss, claiming he would have his blind side. Tonight Moss would take his first test.

Rawley did a short job of his opponent, No Way Jose, planting it and picking up the title's successful defense in seconds.

Suddenly, one of the members of José's conga line entered the ring and threw Rawley to win the title. It soon became clear that R-Truth was the superstar behind the changing rooms. However, Moss interrupted the escape from the truth and Rawley shot him down to regain the title.

Heels were about to close the segment. Result: Rawley defeated Joseph; The truth defeated Rawley; Rawley defeated the truth Grade: C Analysis: The segment itself was more than we expected from the last 24/7 title, but with Moss' new wrinkle supporting the champion. The real question is how long the longtime development star can resist the urge to betray Rawley and win his first championship.

Most probably hadn't foreseen that his opportunity in a race on the main list would be Rawley's strength, but at least it gave him something to do at a time when he wasn't getting anything in NXT.

After all, at least WWE Creative is trying something new with Moss and Rawley. This is more than welcome given the repetitive formula in which the title had fallen.

Liv Morgan vs. Lana

The weeks of rivalry between Liv Morgan and Lana wrote their latest chapter this week when women met in the singles competition.

What was supposed to be a hot game suffered from a burnt crowd.

An aggressive Morgan barely gave Lana the chance to separate at any moment, overwhelming and oppressing Mrs. Lashley on the road to an impressive victory.

Commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler informed the public that he did not believe this was the end of problems among competitors when Morgan celebrated his win. Result: Morgan defeated Lana Grade: D

Given the amount of TV time and the creative energy that had been invested in everything that brought it, it seemed like an afterthought. Morgan bent over Lana with little fanfare and the absence of Rusev and Lashley gave him a more conclusive feeling than probably the creativity expected.

Analysis: What a great disappointment this was. Morgan needed victory because she certainly looked like a Superstar whose momentum has been reduced to nothing since her return during the Lana-Lashley wedding, but you can't help but think that this had the completely opposite effect than the management expected.

Erick Rowan in Action

Erick Rowan tried to shake off his disappointing interpretation of the Royal Rumble against another unfortunate and unknown soul.

He hit his opponent with a huge dropkick and finished him quickly with Iron Claw.

Result: Rowan won Grade: F Analysis: Seeing Rowan beat workers every week has a duration and that duration lasted two months ago. The time has come to offer the reward for this story or move on because boredom has struck too long ago for the end to be useful.

The Rated R Superstar Returns

Edge returned to Raw, fresh from an epic return to Sunday's Royal Rumble.

Excited as they stood in the center of the square circle, fans rained down on him with his appreciation and love, attributing his return to the only quality he has that no one else can deny.

Randy Orton stopped promoting his former teammate and hugged him. Taking a microphone, The Viper called Edge his brother and the only man who could get him out of the hole that Orton became younger and self-destructive.

Orton asked Edge what he thought of a possible return of the nominal RKO, which fans greeted with a thunderous "YES!" I sing

Then Orton pulled the carpet out from under everyone, dropping Edge with an RKO into a chorus of whistles. He hit the returning hero with a steel chair, then joked doing serious damage with the weapon, which he kept around the head of the Hall of Fame.

Instead, he recovered two more chairs from the front row and continued to deliver a disgusting chair, causing absolute contempt for fans. The Viper got up to close the show, his former partner was face down in the center of the ring, his return potentially before it really started. Grade: A+ Analysis: However, it was Orton's performance that took him to the next level.
The sheer thrill shown by Edge was fantastic and his promotion was exactly what you would expect from a triumphant veteran who has returned to the industry that has made him a star. There was no way to hide how happy she was to return to the role of professional wrestler and this helped make the segment much more effective. The Viper has cut one of its best promotions for years, an open and honest representation of one of its closest friends and someone responsible for its survival in the industry. By painting that picture, he prepared fans for the surprise of his betrayal.

On a night when WWE absolutely needed to hit the audience in the gut with a burning angle to convince fans to invest, it was delivered with a fantastic conclusion to the broadcast.

The beating, the disgusting work of the chair and Orton's hesitation were perfect and viscerally effective.
