WWE Pay Per View Royal Rumble 2020 Results and Rating

Edge is back and Drew McIntyre is a star. These are the two conclusions of the strong payment for Sunday's Royal Rumble event. Edge was the big surprise of the night, but the winner of the evening was McIntyre. Not only did he eliminate Brock Lesnar, but he also launched Roman Reigns to win the whole game.

In another part of the show, Charlotte Flair won the women's Royal Rumble to win a game for the women's championship at WrestleMania. Becky Lynch retained her title by playing Asuka and Daniel Bryan was unable to defeat The Fiend. However, the highlight of the night was the men's Royal Rumble game, the best of the years.

ROYAL RUMBLE FOR MEN

This was the case with a textbook on how to build a star. Drew McIntyre has won the game and appears to be WWE's next big hit.
Brock Lesnar started the game at number one and decimated. Elias, Erick Rowan, John Morrison, Keith Lee, Shelton Benjamin, Braun Strowman were fantastic. All were expelled from Lesnar, which ended in 13 eliminations.
Lesnar's career would end with McIntyre and Ricochet. When McIntyre entered the ring, he and Lesnar started to the square. Lesnar started to unbutton his gloves, so you know something big was about to happen. Unfortunately, Ricochet gave Lesnar a hard shot from behind and McIntyre knocked out The Beast with a Claymore kick. The crowd has gone mad.
And it's not the last time the crowd goes crazy, because the 21st participant was Edge. The R-rated superstar is returning. He didn't win the game and Roman Reigns took him out in the penultimate place. (The crowd, as you can imagine, was not enthusiastic about it.) It looked fantastic, and it looks like it's heading to WrestleMania for a great game.
The last two were Reigns and McIntyre. Reigns threw a huge spear, but Claymore Kick cut it and threw it.

Rating: 4.5 stars. Excellent Royal Rumble game. All that is fun of the Royal Rumble: appetizers and surprise eliminations, characters from different brands that face each other in attractive ways, the ability to build a new star: this absolutely nailed Rumble.

A teary Drew McIntyre will almost certainly take on Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Becky Lynch submits Asuka

A game dating back to last year's show, Becky Lynch defeated Asuka with a disarming arm to maintain her Raw Women's Championship. The end came when Asuka was preparing to spray the green mist on Lynch's face, as he had done for weeks in a row at Raw, but Lynch kicked Asuka in the stomach, causing Asuka to shoot the mist in the air.

This was an excellent game that could have been excellent with a few extra minutes. One of the highlights came to an end when Asuka hit Lynch with a hard jaw kick. The referee was about to cancel the game, but Lynch literally stopped him. It continued when Asuka threw more kicks, which led to the last leg.
It's not that every game for the title should have false goals, but it seemed that the game ended when the two women were about to work in a crescendo, not really in the crescendo. A still clear action and a well-told story.

Rating: 3.5 stars.

The Fiend Bray Wyatt is still Universal Champion

Daniel Bryan is an absolute wizard. For the second time, he convinced a stadium he could beat Bray Wyatt and win the universal championship. But like Survivor Series, it wasn't. The Demon kept his title in the belt game after a Jaw Crash that fell and launched.

It ended like a great game, but it started slowly. Wyatt worked on Bryan, tying him to the belt and knocking him on the ring. In the end, Bryan came back, with more knees running, a twisted looking Yes Lock with a leash and, as with any good Bryan game, a small and timely package. But after hitting a running knee for a count of two, The Fiend appears invincible and conquered the Jawbone for victory.

Rating: 3.75 stars. This was also a great help from the absence of Wyatt's infamous red lights.

Bayley retains her SmackDown Women's Championship

A thought for these women, who were in the dead zone having to follow the Royal Rumble. After an OK game, Bayley covered Lacey Evans after thwarting a moon jump attempt.

The game was nothing special, but both women worked hard. The truth is that they never had a chance, considering what they were following. It is true that they put the pockets of the crowd in them, so they are accessories for this. And Lacey Evans, although she failed in a trampoline attempt, showed a big improvement over where she was just a few months ago.

Rating: 2 stars. It was cool. However, great credit for Lacey Evans, who shows noticeable improvement.

Charlotte Flair wins women's Royal Rumble

This was a great Royal Rumble game. Charlotte Flair may have won, but the two big stars were actually from the NXT: Bianca Belair and Shayna Baszler.

Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair started out as number one and two. Halfway through the game, Bliss and Belair were the only women left in the ring. Belair eliminated eight single women. The main eliminations included Lana, which was quickly eliminated by Liv Morgan and Liv Morgan, which was subsequently (illegally) eliminated by Lana. Mandy Rose was expelled from the ring, but landed on Otis, intending to gain her affection, so that her feet never touched the ground. Later, Rose was expelled and captured again by Otis. Belair then launched Sonya Deville on Otis and Rose, eliminating both Rose and Deville.

After coming and going, Belair eliminated Bliss. Then she was received in the ring by Charlotte Flair. A few minutes later, Belair was eliminated by Flair. The second half of the game was uneventful, swelling the field in the ring after everything was basically restored in the middle.
Number 30 was Shayna Baszler, who eliminated seven women, including Beth Phoenix. Baszler had a big fire and looked like a star. Everything depended on Baszler and Flair, with Flair skinning the cat and throwing Baszler.

Rating: 3.25 stars. There were some quiet periods and some of the artists seemed lost or overlooked in the spots. But overall, this was a well-designed and mostly well-performed Rumble game.

Participants in the surprise included Mighty Molly Holly, Beth Phoenix (who had bad blood in the back of her head), Kelly Kelly, returning Naomi and Santina Marella.

Roman Reigns defeats Baron Corbin

These two have been fighting for months, hopefully this Count Count Anywhere game is the end. After what seemed like a long battle, Roman Reigns speared Baron Corbin over a shelter in Houston's Minute Maid Park.

The game started in the ring, where Reigns dominated. But it quickly became a generic fight, with the two fighting over the sand. There were some nice places: Corbin hit a shocking chokelam across the announcement tables in the ring for a 2, and the interference from The Usos, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode led one of the Uses to drop off the stage towards Roode and Ziggler on the concrete floor. At one point, Reigns threw Corbin into a portaloo and tipped him over. That was ... something.
But really, nothing stands out in this game. Both men will be at Rumble later tonight, so unfortunately the story will probably continue there.
Rating: 1 star. Long and boring

Kickoff shows results
Sheamus VS Shorty G: It's no surprise here, as this is Sheamus' return game. It wasn't a squash since Gable was offended, but Sheamus eventually won with a Brogue Kick.

Andrade maintains the United States championship: Andrade and Humberto Carrilo had a good and long game, which ended with Andrade's victory by accumulation.
