Breaking tradition, Prime Minister Modi will pay tribute to fallen soldiers at the newly built National War Memorial (NWM) at the India Gate instead of Amar Jawan Jyoti on Sunday morning before attending the 71st Republic Day celebrations.
The NWM, inaugurated in February last year by Prime Minister Modi, was built in memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for the country after independence.
