Marvel Studios used its fantastic Super Bowl commercial to quickly trigger the next three Disney + series: Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision.
There weren't many pictures from any of the series, but there were enough glimpses to provoke fans. The Falcon and Winter Soldier saw Anthony Mackie's Sam "Falcon" Wilson take Captain America's shield and maneuver with him. The series continues where that arc ends, while Steve Rogers' best friends try to navigate a world where he is no longer. The show brings Mackie Wilson and Sebastian Stan's "Winter Soldier" Barnes Bucky to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Endgame ended with Steve Rogers handing over his Captain America shield to Sam. The advance also showed a taste of the return of Zemo, the villain who became famous in Captain America: Civil War.
WandaVision images show scenes from Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany's Vision interacting with each other in a home. The show had previously joked at the Disney D23 biennial convention as a surreal version of a series-like relationship. Loki had the least amount of images but showed actor Tom Hiddleston again on paper.
Like what The Mandalorian went to Lucasfilm, all eyes will be on The Falcon and Winter Solider as the first major Disney + Marvel series. Since Disney launched Disney +, the big changes behind the scenes have shed light on the importance of integrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe and TV shows. Kevin Feige, the visionary behind MCU, now oversees all Marvel Entertainment. Before the launch of Disney +, Jeph Loeb oversaw the various Marvel shows on various Disney networks and streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix. This changed late last year.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is one of two great Marvel series that will arrive at Disney + this year. The company previously announced that WandaVision would receive a release date for 2020, moving from the original 2021 window. Both WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier will join the Marvel cinematic universe.
Now, Feige oversees all of Marvel, both from a cinematographic and television point of view. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will join the aforementioned WandaVision this year, followed by Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moonknight in the coming years.
