London: London police called Sudesh Amman, 20, as the attacker responsible for stabbing two people in the Streatham area of south London on Sunday.
"Although the suspect was not formally identified, given the circumstances of the accident, we are sure it was Sudesh Amman," said Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Lucy D'Orsi.
Police previously described the attack as a terrorist incident believed to be "related to Islam".
Three people, including the two stinging victims and one whom the police believe was hit by glass after firing a police weapon, were taken to nearby hospitals, police said. The injuries ranged from fatal to minor, police said.Amman is believed to be the man the police said he was carrying a "cheat device" attached to his body that stabbed two people on Streatham High Road before gunmen killed him.
The authorities expressed concern about the man's behavior, including language that suggested that he continue to maintain extremist views, but that they needed to be released under applicable laws, the source said. He was released under strict licensing conditions, including a curfew, and kept him under surveillance.
On Monday, detectives from the Metropolitan Police Command against Terrorism began looking for two residential addresses in South London and Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire, according to a police statement.
"No arrests have been made and investigations continue to keep up," added the statement.

Bulhan told PA that he saw the man "persecuted for what I suppose was an undercover police officer since they were dressed in civilian clothes."
Another eyewitness, Gulled Bulhan, a 19-year-old student from Streatham, told the AP news agency that the man had a "machete and silver boats on his chest".
The London Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene shortly before 2:00 pm.
"We work closely with other emergency services and send a number of resources, including five ambulance teams, an advanced paramedic, an accident response officer, and a motorcycle responder, and the first of our doctors has arrived in four minutes "We also sent to London Air Ambulance," said a note.

Streatham High Road is a street full of shops. Police told people to stay away from the area and "use restraint when circulating photos and videos" of the incident, including pictures of the officers involved.
The road remained closed even after police said the accident was limited.
The accident occurred only two months after the police shot and killed a man on central London's London Bridge after an attack that left two people dead and three others injured.
