WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from January 31

After a dizzying weekend of Royal Rumble, the January 31 edition of Friday Night SmackDown received the Super SmackDown title as a night defined by big parties.

Roman Reigns and The Usos have teamed up once again to defeat King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. These teams have fought forever, and this seemed to be the final chapter of this rivalry.

Braun Strowman finally received his promised Christmas present when he was ready to fight Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He had already defeated the artist several times and this time he could win his first singular WWE championship.

Champions of the SmackDown tag team also had new challengers on the horizon when a fatal contender n. 1 to 4 ways. The Miz and John Morrison fought against Heavy Machinery, Fight House Party and The Revival.

Before the Super Bowl, Super SmackDown had promised a huge show that would not be forgotten soon.

After a brutal fight at the Royal Rumble Kickoff, Shorty G tried to redeem himself in a rematch with Sheamus in the first encounter of The Celtic Warrior in the blue mark for months.

Roman Reigns and The Usos Add Dog Food to the Main Event

Roman Reigns saw the bright side by defeating King Corbin in Royal Rumble, although he failed in the men's event. He looked to the future of WrestleMania 36 with his Usos cousins.

King Corbin broke up with Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. The king made it clear that The Big Dog cheated and that he would lose tonight. The Uses challenged Corbin to add a clause on the six-man label tonight. The losers would eat dog food. Corbin agreed.

Grade: D+

Analysis: On a crowded night, SmackDown opened with a flat and unnecessary segment. Reigns and Corbin spoke of the end of their rivalry to extend it to another program. The Falls Count Anywhere game was enough to allow this to happen.

Instead, WWE opened an alleged Super SmackDown claiming that the main event would end with three men eating a plate of dog food. It could have been bad enough to get some to log off before any big game.

Heavy Machinery vs. The Revival vs. Miz and John Morrison vs. Lucha House Party

All the teams in this game had the opportunity to shine when they got closer to victory, but they were not up to par. Otis left with Tucker supporting him. Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik flew high during this game.

However, nobody was as smart as any winners. After Dash Wilder was brought out, The Miz joined in a Skull Crushing Finale with John Morrison's Starship Pain to count all three.            Result: This game was a mess of fun ideas. Fight House Party shone in the crispest and most impressive moments of the game, while others couldn't seem so clean. Morrison, in particular, tried a little too hard to keep getting something impressive.
Def. Miz and Morrison. Revival, Heavy Machinery and Fight House Party have become the new number 1 contenders for the SmackDown tag team champions. Grade: B Analysis: In the end, it was the only right decision for The A-Lister and Shaman of Sexy to be victorious. They have already defeated the two healthy members of The New Day. It was just a matter of coming to fight for the tag team title.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

Behind the scenes, Mandy Rose thanked Otis for helping her with the women's Royal Rumble. The big man asked for an appointment and she accepted for Valentine's Day.

While Fire and Desire looked like a completely cohesive team again, it wasn't enough against the former team tag champion. Sonya Deville failed to save God's greatest creation forever, and Rose fell into Purge in Twisted Bliss.

Result: Bliss and cross def. Fire and desire to fall. Grade: C- Analysis: Rose and Otis have always enjoyed themselves, but it was not so much fun to see the regression of God's greatest creation in the ring. Your coordination and concentration have been feeling bad lately.
Another week brought another hasty and forgettable game between these two teams. It is time for the Goddess and her best friend to move on to bigger and better things. Maybe they can chase The Kabuki Warriors again.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Braun Strowman

Sami Zayn did his best with Cesaro to keep Shinsuke Nakamura in this game. However, Braun Strowman refused to be arrested. After The Critic of the Critics discovered the tensioner, The Monster Among Men launched The Artist and hit a power slam for the win.

Behind the scenes, Zayn tried to explain to everyone the injustice that had just happened, but Elias interrupted him with a concert in the ring. The Swiss Superman chased The Living Truth only to be expelled from the ring by Elias. Result: While the game wasn't exceptional, the momentum more or less made up for it. Strowman has finally managed to win his first single league. The monster among men has deserved gold for a long time that he has not been able to get. Now he has the opportunity to race with the intercontinental championship.
Strowman def. Nakamura became the new WWE intercontinental champion. Grade: C+ Analysis: In the meantime, Zayn's duo is falling apart. Nakamura no longer has a title to make it seem more relevant. Cesaro cannot take a break on any stage. It may not be long before the Critic of the Critics team becomes a distant memory.

Sheamus vs. Shorty G

Shorty G attacked Sheamus during his entrance to embarrass The Fella. While the Celtic Warrior was recovering, the shorter man seemed to have his number. The Celtic warrior stopped him dry with a kick of Brogue.

Result: Sheamus def. Running out of the pinfall. Grade: B Analysis: Of course, this was a completely unnecessary rematch, but Sheamus and his first rival on his return made full use of the moment. Shorty is much better than his record of wins and losses would indicate. He made it clear that Sheamus is a big threat by pushing him, but he's still not up to it.

It will be interesting to see who will follow The Fella. There are many men in WWE with whom he may have stellar games he has never faced before.

Naomi Interrupts Bayley

Bayley was gloating over his victory over Lacey Evans. I wanted Charlotte Flair to come out and challenge her. Instead, Naomi has arrived. She made it clear that The Role Model had never hit her. Bayley attacked his alleged challenger for the first time, but Naomi sent her to run.

Grade: B Analysis: While Sassy Southern Belle proved worthy of his Royal Rumble fight, he wasn't the type who raised the SmackDown women's championship. This dispute could if both women step up their game to meet.
Bayley Vs. Naomi is definitely an interesting proposal. It is rare for WWE to have a new confrontation between enemies established so far in their career, but these two have never fought each other. If they can comply, this maybe Naomi's time to take the next step.

Roman Reigns and the Usos vs. King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

In a physical fight of six-man teams, Usos and Roman Reigns were always in control. They managed to eliminate Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode before The Big Dog rolled King Corbin by three.

When the king tried to escape, Reigns captured Corbin with a spear. So he was hanged by the tensioner with the handcuffs before the faces threw dog food at him. Result: Corbin Vs. Reigns have been a long and arduous dispute. Hopefully, this is the end. The six-man team fight was much better and did not include Michael Cole who said: "someone will eat dog food". All of this was terrible, even if the fight was going well.
