We did it. After more than three hours of food for the Oscars, from the red carpet and meme performances of Billie Eilish to the funny speeches and triumphant triumphs (mainly for Parasite), the biggest Hollywood evening is over and dusted. It turned out that these useful and totally accurate winning predictions were not completely accurate (mainly because Parasite did better than expected, deservedly).
So who won the best movie? The historical answer is in: Oscar voters chose the parasitic people, their fourth-night gong (they also brought home the best director for Bong Joon-ho, the best international film and the best original screenplay). The victory makes Parasite the first foreign-language film in the 92-year history of the ceremony to win first prize.
